A FREE Evening Session with Dr. Jeffrey Brantley Wednesday, May 16, 2012 |

We invite you to join Dr. Jeffrey Brantley, Director of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Duke Integrative Medicine for an evening of relaxation and serenity. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a method of using meditation and yoga to cultivate awareness and reduce stress. It is based on the ancient practice of mindfulness, which is about waking up, being fully alive, and being present in the richness of each moment of our lives. During this evening session, Dr. Brantley will discuss the powerful ways that mindfulness can address your physical and emotional health by reducing stress. He will share the most current evidence and research, and he will teach you specific techniques that you can use starting right now to help you:

Events
Overview of Program Coordinator Responsibilities for those new to the position.
2 sessions will be offered.
Session 1 will begin at 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. in room 108A in Duke South Green Zone. This will be a presentation by a current seasoned Duke Program Coordinator, Lori Allsbrook. Lori is the current coordinator for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She will present information regarding our governing bodies in education, including the ACGME, evaluations, competencies, and how to succeed in your current role as coordinator (based on personal experience).
Session 2 will begin immediately following the first session (approximately 10:15 a.m.) and will conclude at noon. Session 2 will take place in the GME conference room. Rhea Fortune, Manager of GME, Leslie Johnson, Registrar, and Chrystal Stancil, MedHub Administrator will take you through the workings of the GME office, your role, and orient you to MedHub.
Invitation is based on time in current position
Session 1 is open to Program Coordinators who have been in their current role for 2 years or less.
Session 2 is open to Program Coordinators that began their new role on or after March 11, 2012.
